Q:Which type of visa should I apply to come to China?
A:International students must apply a student visa (X1 or X2visa) in the Chinese Embassy or Consulate with ordinary passport as well as the Admission Notice and visa application form JW202 / JW201 issued by Chinese Universities.
Q:Can I get student visa in my university if I enter China with a landing visa or without a visa?
A:The answer is NO! If you come to China with a landing visa or without a visa, you must leave the country before current visa expires and apply a student visa to re-enter.
Q:Can I get student visa if I enter China with a tourist visa or business visa?
A:The answer is NO! If you come to China with a tourist visa or a business a visa, you must leave the country before current visa expires and apply a student visa to re-enter.
Q:Must I buy the insurance?
A:Yes.Subject to the regulations of the China Ministry of Education and ECNU, in order to guarantee the safety of international students during their stay in China, it is required that all international students studying in China must purchase Comprehensive Insurance & Protection for Foreigners staying in China offered by Ping'An Annuity Insurance Company when doing on site registration.
Q:How to apply for a pick-up service?
A: SICAS Care Team Member will offer airport pick-up service and information service
For those who need the airport pick-up service, please email your flight number, arrival time, passport name and student’s ID on the admission notice to care@sicas.n two weeks before you departure. Look around for the sign of “SICAS” and SICAS Care Team members wearing T-shirt with “SICAS” at the International Arrivals.
Q: How can I get the Registration Form of Temporary Residence?
A:If you live in the international students’ dorm on campus or a hotel off campus, you can get the Registration Form of Temporary Residence from the reception directly while checking in.
If you live in a rented place, you should get a “Registration Form of International Students Living off Campus” from the International Students Office first and go to local police station with your passport as well as the leasing contract to get the Registration Form of Temporary Residence.
