Programme objectives
This Programme aims to train high level international professionals with a solid foundation in International Relations and thorough understanding Asia-Pacific international affairs. It is expected that graduates of the programme will be excellent candidates for positions in diplomatic organizations, multi-national companies, government departments or teaching and research institutes with an interest in the Asia-Pacific international affairs.

Core course descriptions
· History of International Relations in the Asia-Pacific
This course provides an introduction to history of international relations in the Asia-Pacific, including ancient, modern and contemporary history of international relations in the region.
· International Political Economy
This course provides students with a basic knowledge and theory of International Political Economy. It focuses on the interactions between international politic and international economy.
· International Relation Issues in the Asia-Pacific
This course introduces the changes and developments of international relations in Asia-Pacific, especially in the issues of the big powers' relations and the regional cooperation in Asia- Pacific.
· Asia-Pacific International Political Economy
This course provides an introduction to conception and characteristic of Asia-Pacific, including the role of Asia-Pacific in the world political economy and security, the changes and developments of political economy and military affairs in Asia-Pacific from cold war to post cold war, as well as the China 's stratagem of Asia-Pacific.
*Prospective students should have a non-Chinese passport and be in good health.
*Academic requirements: Prospective students must hold a recognized bachelor's degree or above, or equivalent.
*English proficiency: Minimum requirement is 550 points or above for TOFFL (80 points or above for new TOFEL), a grade 6 or above for IELTS, or certificate of English proficiency from an approved authority. Native English speakers are exempt from this requirement; other candidates whose university courses are taught in English will be considered case by case.
*Professional backgrounds: Prospective students who are able to show relevant professional experience deemed appropriate to the programme applied for will be given prior consideration.
