Program Description The curriculum planning shall include the following three parts: (1) Chinese culture and natural science courses. In order to facilitate their learning and life in China and contact with patients in their medical practice, the Chinese language shall be a compulsory course during the whole undergraduate medical program in English for international students in China. (2) Basic medical sciences, behavioral science, humanities, social science and medical ethics, preventive medicine and clinical medicine. It is also required to pass the examinations of these courses respectively. (3) Internship. The institutions shall meticulously organize the reasonable arrangement of the internship. The duration of the internship is one year (at least 48 weeks). Main Courses: Over 55 compulsory courses and over 7 optional courses: Cytobiology, Human Anatomy, Human Micropics Morphology Experiment, parasitology, Experiment of Microbilogy & Immunology, Pathology, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Medical Genetics, Forensic Medicine, Hygienic Statistics, Community Medicine, Epidemiology, Occupational Health & Safety, Environment & Health, Food Hygiene, Nutrition & Diseases, Medical Psychology, Medical Ethics, Diagnostics Basic, Image Diagnosis, Acupuncture Therapy etc.

Internship:

In the final academic year, MBBS students need to do the internship for one year (at least 48 weeks). They can choose to do it in China, their home country or any other country. Those who do their internship in other countries, other than in CQMU, only need to pay 20% of the tuition fee of that year. According to Nepalese Government, students from Nepal are not allowed to do internship back in Nepal. Degree Awarded: MBBS Degree: upon graduation, students need to pass the HSK 3 (New HSK 4) to get the diploma. On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by CQMU, if they meet the degree regulations of the university. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

1. Generally, applicants for bachelor’s degree programmes shall be within the age range of 18 to 25. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health.

2. Applicants must have sufficient financial resources to support their studies and living in China.

3. Applicants must have graduated from a high school or equivalent institution and be awarded a high school diploma or higher.

4. In general, the applicants should be graduating from high school in the current year of the intended university enrollment, with good academic and behavior records at school.

5. Under the same conditions, applicants to English-taught programmes with an HSK certificate will be given preferential consideration.

6. For international students under the age of 18 whose parent(s) are notordinarily residing in China, the parent(s) must formally appoint a foreigner or a Chinese citizen who is ordinarily residing in China as the guardian for the international student, and provide supporting documents.

1)Passport (copy / scan).

2)Complete the application form for foreign students of Chongqing Medical University (filled in the system).

3)Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy/scanned copy) . The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of an attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. Note: Records of physical examination are only valid for 6 months.

5)Proof of funds (bank deposit must not be less than all fees required to be paid in the first academic year).

6)Notarized undergraduate / Master graduation certificate, degree certificate (applicants who graduate in July 2023 will must provide pre graduation certificate) (copy / scan), academic transcript and graduation thesis at undergraduate / master stage (if there is no graduation thesis at undergraduate stage, proof shall be provided) (copy / scan).

7)Apply for English Teaching Major: provide TOEFL, IELTS score Certificate (copy / scan) or the certificate that the undergraduate and graduate study stage is all English teaching.

8)Apply for teaching in Chinese: provide HSK5 or above certificates and transcripts.
