Program Feature The university offers one-year Chinese language study for free to those who apply for degree program in SMU. Students should pay the first year tuition, and for the last year study will be free of charge.

Enrollment Shanghai Maritime University reserves the right to admit foreign students by written test or interview. The enrollment result will be issued at the beginning of July, 2010. The offer package will be delivered after that.

1.  Photocopy of valid passport
With photo, passport number &expiration date and name included.

2.  Passport-sized photo
A passport-sized photo taken recently of the applicant.

3.  Master's degree diploma
Graduation certificate should be in Chinese or English.If not, it should be translated into Chinese or English and be notarized.

4.  Transcript of postgraduate school

5.  Health certificate(optional)
Photocopy of physical examination record.

6.  Two recommendation letters
From professor,associate professor or equivalents.

7.  Certificate of English proficiency test
IELTS or TOEFl will only be required if the applicant is not a native English speaker.

8.Statement of purpose.

Around 1500 words for PhD candidates, including the study and work experience,academic research result, planned research proposal, and individual development objective after graduation
