Teaching Objectives

The course aims to educate students to study basic theory and elementary knowledge in medicine, gain basic clinical skills of some common diseases diagnosis processing, have the primary treatment ability to urgent, difficult and severe symptoms, and be qualified for careers in hospitals, the medical and health units, medical science research departments as well as other organizations related medicine.

IntroductionThe curriculum planning shall include the following three parts:

1. Chinese culture and natural science courses. In order to facilitate their learning and life in China and contact with patients in their medical practice, the Chinese language shall be a compulsory course during the whole undergraduate medical program in English for international students in China.

2. Basic medical sciences, behavioral science, humanities, social science and medical ethics, preventive medicine and clinical medicine. It is also required to pass the examinations of these courses respectively.

3. Internship. The institutions shall meticulously organize the reasonable arrangement of the internship. The duration of the internship is one year (at least 48 weeks).

Internship

The internship will be arranged by the university. On completing the requirements of the teaching program and passing the graduation examinations successfully, international medical undergraduates will be granted a graduation certificate and conferred a medical degree by the host institution, if they meet the degree regulations of the host institution. The English copy of the degree will state MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery).

Note:The course requires students to pay tuition or admission deposit before issuing admission package.

Career After obtaining MBBS Degree, the graduates can apply to take the medical licensing examination in the medical council in order to get registered and practice medicine. According to the regulations in different countries, the students may need to do the degree accreditation first. A MBBS degree holder can find jobs in government as well as private hospitals, nursing homes and other health facilities. Except this, one can also start his own clinic or pursue study for master's degree.

1.Non-chinese citizens aged 18-30, high school graduate or equivalent, in good physical and mental health (no color blindness, no color weakness).

2.The applicant must have lived abroad for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (before April 30 of the year of enrollment).

3.Language ability requirements: For non-English speakers, English language ability must be supported by IELTS, TOEFL or other English test scores (IELTS score of no less than 6.0, no less than 5.0; Toefl score of no less than 85 points on Internet based, no less than 20 points on each item, or no less than 580 points on Paper based) or other equivalent English test score proof; Native English speakers who submit an official certificate of full English instruction in secondary school are exempt from IELTS or TOEFL scores.

If the applicant is a current student, he/she must submit a pre-graduation certificate or study certificate issued by his/her school;

3.Transcripts of all courses at the highest level of education (Chinese/English transcripts can be provided;

if they are in languages other than English, English translations and notarization are required);

4.certificate photo (blue background 2 inch bareheaded photo);

5.The Financial Guarantee Letter of Fujian Medical University for International Students and the scanned copy of the guarantee materials to prove the financial sources of personal financial resources or family financial support, government funding, financial guarantor sponsorship, etc.;

6.The scanned copy of the original "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners", which is printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department and must be filled in Chinese or English;

7.Proof of language ability;

8 .Applicants under the age of 18 must provide the original and photocopy of the power of attorney certified by the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country of origin.

9.Non-criminal record or Chinese/English-translated document with an official stamp.
