I. Training Objectives

Actuarial Science is a discipline that uses mathematical and statistical models to solve problems in insurance and finance. Students will take courses in mathematics, statistics, economics, and finance as part of the degree program. This program will provide students the opportunity to acquire the quantitative and business skills with a solid knowledge of Chinese Culture.

The student of this program should obtain the following knowledge and techniques:

1. Mastering the fundamental knowledge, theories and techniques of statistics and financial actuarial science; 2. Having the capabilities of analysis and problem solving skills; 3. Knowing the development and trend in the statistics and actuarial science discipline; 4. Having the ability in document searching, data querying and thesis writing; 5. Having a good command of application English and professional English; 6. Attaining in humanities & art, cooperative and organizational skills.

Duration：4 years.

Degree Conferred： Bachelor of Science.

Main Courses Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability Theory, Stochastic Process, Statistics, Principles of Western Economics, Multivariate Analysis, Time Series Analysis, Econometrics, Financial Mathematics, Insurance Law, Options,futures and derivative security, The Theory of Interest, Actuarial Science, Principles of Insurance, Risk Management, Application of Statistical Software.

VI. Main Practice

Cognition Practice, Social Investigation, Integrated Course Design (Statistical Practice, Actuarial Practice), Corporation Internship, Business Practice, Graduate Project (Thesis).

Minimum Credits Requirement for Graduation: 151.

Age: 18 to 25

With an educational background equal to high school graduation.
