Food Processing and Safety is a field of degree education closely related to food production, processing and full-process quality & safety control. Relying on a batch of sea-related research platforms and industry-university-research platforms such as Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Marine Biological Resources and Environment, Jiangsu Marine Biological Resources Utilization and Quality & Safety Control Engineering Center, Jiangsu Coastal Aquatic Products Processing Research and Development Center, Jiangsu Institute of Marine Resources Development, Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Marine Biotechnology, Public Technology Platform of Marine Biological Industry for Small and Medium Enterprises in Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Marine Biological Industry Collaborative Innovation Center Incubation Site, and Jiangsu Marine Biological Industry Technology Cooperation Alliance, this field focuses on developing maritime characteristics. This field has a team of teachers who understand the needs of society, have solid theoretical knowledge, rich teaching experience and strong practical ability. Now, there are 56 instructors in this field, including 21 professors (researchers), 23 associate professors (associate researchers) and 50 teachers with a doctorate, along with 51 part-time instructors from enterprises and public institutions. This field develops students' ability to solve practical problems in the field of agriculture, food production and safety management, and cultivates high-level, application-oriented versatile talents who can engage in production, development, quality & safety control, analysis and inspection and other technical and management work in enterprises, public institutions and management departments related to modern agriculture, food processing industry and safety management, etc.
