The chemistry major of the Department of Chemistry is a characteristic major of colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, a top priority discipline in Zhejiang Province, and an advantageous major in Zhejiang Province during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". The Department of Chemistry has unique characteristics in the teacher education of chemistry majors, and adopts methods such as external inline, optimization and combination of chemistry education teaching and research teachers to improve the overall teaching level of higher teacher education. Through the effective linkage and practice of higher teacher education and basic education with joint construction units, the effective connection between higher teacher education and basic education can be realized, and the quality of talent training and employment competitiveness will be improved. In terms of teaching and education, the chemistry major adopts a systematic brand training program for talent training, implements the "responsibility to grow into talents" education project, and realizes the branding of "responsibility growth into talents" lecture hall project, the branding of student science and technology activity projects, the branding of learning style construction projects, and the branding of employment guidance projects. In recent years, the teachers of the Department of Chemistry have guided undergraduates to win the second prize of the 13th National Challenge Cup College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, the special prize of the 13th Zhejiang Challenge Cup College Students Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, the first prize of the 7th "Challenge Cup" Entrepreneurship Plan Competition of Zhejiang Province, the special prize of the 5th College Students Chemistry Discipline Competition of Zhejiang Province, etc. In recent years, undergraduate students majoring in chemistry have won 67 student scientific research projects, 6 provincial college student science and technology innovation activity plans (new seedling talent program), published 63 papers, and won 47 provincial and above discipline competitions.
