Non-Chinese citizen in good health with a valid passport;

Applicants studying for a bachelor’s degree should have obtained high school diploma;

Applicants studying for a Master’s degree should have obtained bachelor’s degree;

Applicants studying for a Doctoral degree should have obtained Master’s degree，and no older than 55 years old.

Applicants studying for non-degree programs should have a formal education background at high school or above, aged from 18-55.

Applicants who are less than 18 years old should submit Guarantee Statement.

Note:

• Graduates who did not receive their degree certificates at the time of application should provide pre-graduation certificates issued by their schools or colleges to prove their ability to graduate smoothly and obtain their degree certificates by July 2025.

• According to Nationality Law and the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, applicants who have international nationality at birth, one or both parents is Chinese citizen and are applying to Shanghai University as international students must present valid passport or citizenship documents attained before April 30, 2021 and proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality, along with proof of residence abroad of at least 2 years between April 30, 2021 and April 30, 2025(9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

• Residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan who have emigrated to other countries and are applying to Shanghai University as international students must present valid passport or citizenship documents attained before April 30, 2021 and proof of their renunciation of Chinese nationality, along with proof of residence abroad of at least 2 years between April 30, 2021 and April 30, 2025(9 months of residence abroad per year may be considered as one year).

• Relevant applicants are required to provide supporting documents such as birth certificates, entry and exit seals records, certificate of renunciation and Commitment Letter for Entry Exit Information (You can download at https://apply.shu.edu.cn). Those who fail to pass the nationality status review will automatically lose the eligibility to apply and any subsequent admission results they may obtain.

Note: for any applicants who can not get the Certificate of No Criminal Record at home country, please sign the No criminal record Commitment with Shanghai University For applicants who haven’t graduated, pending graduation certificate and transcripts available till the application date are also acceptable. Official graduation certificate and transcripts of all grades shall be submitted timely after being received.
