Research Institute of Economics and Management (RIEM) at SWUFE was established in 2006 among China’s other four pioneers in the promotion of modern economics and business education. • Priority countries: Tanzania; Ethiopia; Italy; Russia; Pakistan; Indonesia; Vietnam; Thailand; Ghana; Nigeria;

• Abide by the laws and regulations of China as well as regulations of SWUFE;

• Applicants are not offered with any other Chinese scholarships for the program study at SWUFE; and shall apply for scholarship dicrectly and independently.

• Be a bachelor’s degree holder when applying for master’s degree program;

• Be a master’s degree holder when applying for doctoral degree program;

• Applicants who will graduate in 2025 shall obtain a national recognized corresponding diploma before enrollment. Otherwise, the admission qualification will be invalid.

• Master’s degree program: under the age of 35;

• Doctoral degree program: under the age of 40.

• Applicants whose native language is English, or can provide proof of studying in a 2-year or above degree program in which the medium of instruction is English, do not need to provide language certificate.

• Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide official certificate/report of English language proficiency (e.g. IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 95 and above).

3. Notarized highest educational degree or diploma certificate

If the applicant has not obtained the degree yet, they should provide an official letter that states this student will obtain the degree before August 25th, 2025. This letter should be issued by the applicant’s current university.

Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors with handwriting signature shall be submitted. 

6. Study Plan/Research Proposal

The content shall include basic information of the applicant, personal statement, existing research results, research objectives and specific study plans (more than 1,000 words) and post-graduation plans .

8. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner

The physical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Please select appropriate time to take physical examination as the result is valid for only 6 months.

9. Non-Criminal Record

Applicants shall submit a valid certificate of Non-Criminal Record issued by the local public security authority, usually issued within 6 months prior to the submission date of the application. If applicants could not get the record from the authority, then shall sign and upload the Commitment Letter of Non-Criminal Record instead.
