Professional Overview: Pediatrics is an important secondary discipline of clinical medicine. Duration of study and Degree: The duration of study for undergraduate programs is generally five years. Upon graduation, students will be awarded a Bachelor of Medicine degree.

Career directions: Graduates mainly work in various medical institutions, health care organizations, and medical research units, engaging in pediatric clinical medical treatment, health care, teaching or research. Some graduates will also enter schools, communities and government agencies to engage in work related to children's health. In addition, the demand for pediatric science professionals from private clinics and family doctors is also gradually increasing.
Employment prospects: According to the data, the number of graduates majoring in pediatrics from regular colleges and universities across the country is 2,000 to 2,500. There is a shortage of pediatricians nationwide, and the employment situation for graduates majoring in pediatrics is good. The national graduate employment rate maintained an upward trend in 2021-2022, increasing from 81% to 93%. However, in 2023, the employment rate slightly declined compared to the previous year, ranging from 82% to 87%. Overall, the employment rate was at a medium to high level.
1. Applicants for a master's degree must hold a bachelor's degree in medicine or a medical-related field and be no older than 35 years old. Applicants for a doctoral degree should hold a master's degree in medicine or a medical-related field and be no older than 40 years old.
