Physics is a fundamental discipline that studies the basic structure, motion laws and interactions of matter, covering the analysis of phenomena ranging from microscopic particles (such as quarks and electrons) to the macroscopic universe (such as galaxies and black holes). This major uses mathematics as a tool to explore the laws of nature through theoretical derivation and experimental verification. At the same time, it intersects with engineering, computer science, biology, etc. to form applied branches (such as quantum computing, medical physics). The curriculum system focuses on the cultivation of logical thinking, mathematical modeling and experimental abilities, with the goal of fostering compound talents who possess the capabilities of basic research or technology transformation.

High school graduation or above; Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens. Obey laws and regulations, be diligent and eager to learn, have excellent academic performance, good conduct, be willing to abide by Chinese laws and regulations as well as the school rules and regulations of Shantou University, be friendly to China, and be physically and mentally healthy.

For students applying for programs taught in Chinese, except for the major of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, all other majors require a score of at least level 4 or above in the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK). Students who have completed their secondary school studies in Chinese can apply for exemption from submitting this certificate. Students applying for all-English-taught programs have no such requirement. Students whose Chinese proficiency does not meet the standard can apply to our school for Chinese language study first.
