I. Framework of Professional Core Courses

Pharmacy is a comprehensive discipline that studies the discovery, development, preparation, evaluation and clinical application of drugs. Its curriculum system is based on "chemistry as the foundation, biology as the background, pharmacology as the core, and pharmaceutical administration as the guarantee", and is specifically divided into the following modules:

Ii. Basic Medicine and Life Science Courses

1. Medical foundation category

Human anatomy and physiology: Systematically study the structure and physiological functions of human organs (such as the circulatory system and nervous system), laying a foundation for understanding the targets of drug action.

Pathophysiology: Analyzing the mechanisms of disease occurrence and development (such as inflammation and tumor pathology), and helping to master the pathological basis of drug treatment.

Biochemistry: It studies the structure and metabolism of biological macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids, and explains the interaction between drugs and biomolecules (such as enzyme inhibition mechanisms).

2. Biology and Microbiology

Cell biology: Understanding the effects of drugs on cell proliferation and apoptosis at the cellular level (such as the mechanism of action of anti-cancer drugs).

Microbiology and Immunology: Study the characteristics of pathogenic microorganisms and human immune responses, covering the principles of antibiotic development and vaccine preparation.

Iii. Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry Courses

All Chinese and other foreign students (non-Chinese citizens) who have a high school diploma or equivalent educational attainment, are at least 18 years old but no more than 25 years old, have good conduct, no criminal record, and are in good physical and mental health are eligible to apply for Jinan University.

1. [Application Form] "Application Form for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese, Chinese and Other Foreign Students of Jinan University and Huaqiao University" Log in to the application system, complete the application and print it out (with your signature attached).

2. [Passport] The student's own passport (if currently in China, the most recent valid Chinese visa page and entry and exit record stamp must also be provided).

3. [Graduation Certificate] and [Transcript] (Note ①, ②)

Graduation certificates or academic qualifications of high school or above, transcripts of each academic year issued by the graduating high school, and transcripts of internationally recognized standardized tests (if available, provide such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB, etc.).

4. [Language Proficiency Proof] HSK or IELTS, TOEFL score certificates, etc. (The scores are valid within two years).

5. [Personal Statement] Self-introduction, past study experience and study plan in China.

6. [Recommendation Letter] One letter, which can be recommended by our overseas admissions office, local overseas Chinese communities, well-known figures in the overseas Chinese community, or the high school where the student graduated.

7. [Physical Examination Report] If you are applying for a medical-related program at our school, you also need to provide a physical examination report within the last six months. The template for the physical examination report is attached as the "Physical Examination Form".

8. The date of issuance of the "Certificate of No Criminal Record" should be within six months before the registration date.

9. [Other Materials] According to the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Relevant Work of Accepting International Students in Our Higher Education Institutions" (Jiaowai Han [2020] No. 12),

② Proof of the applicant's acquisition of foreign nationality; ③ The applicant's entry and exit records for the past four years (up to April 30, 2025).

(2) For applicants who acquired foreign nationality at birth abroad, if one or both of their parents are Chinese citizens, they need to provide ① proof that the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth; ② Proof of permanent residence of the applicant's parents (Chinese citizens) in a foreign country before birth; ③ The applicant's entry and exit records for the past four years (up to April 30, 2025).
