Economics is a social science that studies the laws of resource allocation, production, distribution, exchange and consumption, aiming to explain the economic behaviors and social phenomena of individuals, enterprises and countries through theoretical models and empirical analysis. This major aims to cultivate talents with a solid foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis ability and practical application ability, who can engage in economic analysis, policy formulation, management decision-making and other work in government departments, financial institutions, enterprises and scientific research units. Students need to systematically master the core theories of microeconomics and macroeconomics, learn to use mathematical and statistical tools to analyze economic issues, and understand the logic of real economic operations (such as market mechanisms, international trade, and financial markets).

All Chinese and other foreign students (non-Chinese citizens) who have a high school diploma or equivalent educational attainment, are at least 18 years old but no more than 25 years old, have good conduct, no criminal record, and are in good physical and mental health are eligible to apply for Jinan University.

1. [Application Form] "Application Form for Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese, Chinese and Other Foreign Students of Jinan University and Huaqiao University" Log in to the application system, complete the application and print it out (with your signature attached).

2. [Passport] The student's own passport (if currently in China, the most recent valid Chinese visa page and entry and exit record stamp must also be provided).

3. [Graduation Certificate] and [Transcript] (Note ①, ②)

Graduation certificates or academic qualifications of high school or above, transcripts of each academic year issued by the graduating high school, and transcripts of internationally recognized standardized tests (if available, provide such as SAT/ACT/A-Level/AP/IB, etc.).

4. [Language Proficiency Proof] HSK or IELTS, TOEFL score certificates, etc. (The scores are valid within two years).

5. [Personal Statement] Self-introduction, past study experience and study plan in China.

6. [Recommendation Letter] One letter, which can be recommended by our overseas admissions office, local overseas Chinese communities, well-known figures in the overseas Chinese community, or the high school where the student graduated.

7. [Physical Examination Report] If you are applying for a medical-related program at our school, you also need to provide a physical examination report within the last six months. The template for the physical examination report is attached as the "Physical Examination Form".

8. The date of issuance of the "Certificate of No Criminal Record" should be within six months before the registration date.

9. [Other Materials] According to the "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Relevant Work of Accepting International Students in Our Higher Education Institutions" (Jiaowai Han [2020] No. 12),

② Proof of the applicant's acquisition of foreign nationality; ③ The applicant's entry and exit records for the past four years (up to April 30, 2025).

(2) For applicants who acquired foreign nationality at birth abroad, if one or both of their parents are Chinese citizens, they need to provide ① proof that the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth; ② Proof of permanent residence of the applicant's parents (Chinese citizens) in a foreign country before birth; ③ The applicant's entry and exit records for the past four years (up to April 30, 2025).
