Marine oil and gas engineering is a cutting-edge interdisciplinary field that combines petroleum engineering and marine engineering. It focuses on the exploration, development, production, storage, transportation, and related technical aspects of offshore oil and gas resources. The core of this discipline lies in addressing the challenges of oil and gas extraction in the unique marine environment (such as strong winds and waves, high pressure, corrosion, and deep-water areas), and it is characterized by both technical complexity and engineering challenges. As the "blue frontier" of global energy development, this field directly serves the utilization of deep-sea oil and gas resources and national energy security. It integrates knowledge from multiple disciplines such as marine geology, fluid mechanics, structural engineering, materials science, and safety engineering.
