Course Overview: Geological Resources and Geological Engineering is a discipline that studies the exploration and evaluation of geological bodies and the development and utilization of resources. It covers two major fields: resources and environment, and is closely related to the sustainable development of society and economy. This discipline focuses on geological bodies as the research object, including studying the geological background, formation conditions, and formation mechanisms of mineral resources, as well as the theories, methods, and technologies related to engineering geological bodies in engineering exploration, design, and construction.

Research Directions: Common research directions include mineral prospecting and exploration, mainly studying the theories and technologies for predicting, exploring, and evaluating solid minerals and energy minerals; earth exploration and information technology, focusing on the effectiveness research and comprehensive application of various exploration technologies and information integration technologies; geological engineering, mainly researching the investigation, evaluation, and monitoring of hydrogeology, engineering geology, environmental geology, and ecological geology.

Training Objectives: To cultivate new interdisciplinary innovative talents who can undertake engineering exploration, design, consultation, construction, scientific research, and management work, with a solid theoretical foundation, strong practical innovation ability, broad international vision, and the ability to solve complex geological resources and geological engineering problems.

Employment Directions: Graduates can work in departments such as natural resources, energy, water conservancy, and transportation, engaging in mineral resource exploration, evaluation, and development, as well as engineering geological exploration, geological disaster prevention and control, etc.

2. Requirements for the applicant's educational background and age: 

Those who are pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25. 

(2) Those who are pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35. 

(3) Those pursuing a doctoral degree must hold a master's degree and be under the age of 40. 

(4) Those pursuing non-degree education courses should be under the age of 45. 

3. Not a recipient of any other scholarships. 

4. Language proficiency requirements: IELTS >= 6.0, TOEFL > 80, MELAB >= 10

On the application system of our university, applicants must fill in information in Chinese or English and submit application materials online.

1. Valid Ordinary Passport.

If the applicant is in China, a valid residence permit is also required.

2. The highest degree certificate. Graduating students can provide a pre-graduation letter as a substitute, and have to bring the original certificate when they come to China.

3. Transcripts.

4. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners"(Attachment 3).

Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Records for Foreigners" and fill them out in Chinese or English. The “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” missing pages or without a photo or a cross-page seal on it, or without a signature of physician or seal from hospital is invalid. Whereas the inspection results are valid in 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.

5. Valid non-criminal record certificate within 6 months. If the applicant is already in China, she/he can only provide performance letter or Non-objection certificate from current university.

6. Proof of Language Proficiency.

7. Study Plan for Bachelor or Research Plan for Master and PhD.

8. Two recommendation letters signed by (associate) professors (Undergraduate students are exempt).

9. Conditional acceptance letter (It’s not a mandatory but a preferred file, with which students will be admitted in priority).

10. Others preferred: academic achievements (important), certificates of sports or cultural activity.

11. Students under 18 years old should upload Letter of Authorization.(Attachment 4)
