Subject Overview: This discipline originated from activities such as alchemy and metal smelting in ancient times. In 1888, Norton established a bachelor's degree program in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States, marking its birth. Subsequently, the concept of "unit operations" and the development of related theories laid the basic knowledge framework of the discipline. Since the 20th century, the theories of chemical transmission, chemical reaction engineering, etc. have been continuously improved, and the "three transmissions and one reaction" have established the basic scientific principles of the discipline. At the same time, the development of computer technology has promoted the formation of the direction of chemical system engineering, and chemical engineering has intersected and integrated with disciplines such as biology and materials, giving rise to new directions such as multi-scale theory. 

Research Objectives: The core is to study the synthesis of substances and the processes and technologies of the conversion of substances and energy. The goal is to provide the most advanced technology, the most economically reasonable principles, methods, equipment and processes. Specifically, it includes chemical engineering and technology aimed at the development and efficient utilization of energy and resources, chemical engineering and technology oriented towards the development and application of new substances and new materials, and chemical engineering and technology aimed at the green and sustainable development in the process of substance synthesis and transformation.

2. Requirements for the applicant's educational background and age: 

Those who are pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25. 

(2) Those who are pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35. 

(3) Those pursuing a doctoral degree must hold a master's degree and be under the age of 40. 

(4) Those pursuing non-degree education courses should be under the age of 45. 

3. Not a recipient of any other scholarships. 

4. Language proficiency requirements: IELTS >= 6.0, TOEFL > 80, MELAB >= 10

On the application system of our university, applicants must fill in information in Chinese or English and submit application materials online.

1. Valid Ordinary Passport.

If the applicant is in China, a valid residence permit is also required.

2. The highest degree certificate. Graduating students can provide a pre-graduation letter as a substitute, and have to bring the original certificate when they come to China.

4. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners"(Attachment 3).

Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Records for Foreigners" and fill them out in Chinese or English. The “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” missing pages or without a photo or a cross-page seal on it, or without a signature of physician or seal from hospital is invalid. Whereas the inspection results are valid in 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.

5. Valid non-criminal record certificate within 6 months. If the applicant is already in China, she/he can only provide performance letter or Non-objection certificate from current university.

6. Proof of Language Proficiency.

7. Study Plan for Bachelor or Research Plan for Master and PhD.

8. Two recommendation letters signed by (associate) professors (Undergraduate students are exempt).

9. Conditional acceptance letter (It’s not a mandatory but a preferred file, with which students will be admitted in priority).

10. Others preferred: academic achievements (important), certificates of sports or cultural activity.

11. Students under 18 years old should upload Letter of Authorization.(Attachment 4)
