Professional Overview

New Energy and Power Engineering focuses on the "clean, low-carbon, efficient and sustainable" principles, researching the development theories of various new energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, water energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydrogen energy, and nuclear energy (advanced nuclear energy technologies within the scope of new energy). It also studies the application technologies of energy in conversion (such as light-to-heat conversion, electromechanical conversion), storage (such as lithium batteries, hydrogen energy storage), and power systems (such as power for new energy vehicles, distributed energy systems). It is both an extension of traditional power engineering and a key discipline for promoting the transformation of the energy structure.

Training Objectives

The program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with a solid foundation in energy science (such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics), proficient in professional skills such as new energy power generation technology, energy storage technology, and power system design and optimization, and capable of engaging in technical research, engineering design, system operation and management in fields such as new energy development, power systems, automotive engineering, and energy conservation and environmental protection. Students are required to possess both theoretical analysis and technical application abilities, and to focus on solving efficiency improvement and environmental protection issues in energy utilization.

2. Requirements for the applicant's educational background and age: 

Those who are pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25. 

(2) Those who are pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35. 

(3) Those pursuing a doctoral degree must hold a master's degree and be under the age of 40. 

(4) Those pursuing non-degree education courses should be under the age of 45. 

3. Not a recipient of any other scholarships. 

4. Language proficiency requirements: IELTS >= 6.0, TOEFL > 80, MELAB >= 10

On the application system of our university, applicants must fill in information in Chinese or English and submit application materials online.

1. Valid Ordinary Passport.

If the applicant is in China, a valid residence permit is also required.

2. The highest degree certificate. Graduating students can provide a pre-graduation letter as a substitute, and have to bring the original certificate when they come to China.

3. Transcripts.

4. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners"(Attachment 3).

Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Records for Foreigners" and fill them out in Chinese or English. The “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” missing pages or without a photo or a cross-page seal on it, or without a signature of physician or seal from hospital is invalid. Whereas the inspection results are valid in 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.

5. Valid non-criminal record certificate within 6 months. If the applicant is already in China, she/he can only provide performance letter or Non-objection certificate from current university.

6. Proof of Language Proficiency.

7. Study Plan for Bachelor or Research Plan for Master and PhD.

8. Two recommendation letters signed by (associate) professors (Undergraduate students are exempt).

9. Conditional acceptance letter (It’s not a mandatory but a preferred file, with which students will be admitted in priority).

10. Others preferred: academic achievements (important), certificates of sports or cultural activity.

11. Students under 18 years old should upload Letter of Authorization.(Attachment 4)
