1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with good conduct, good health, and a high school diploma or equivalent from a full-time Chinese high school or above, holding a valid foreign passport, and meeting the relevant regulations stipulated in the "Notice on Regulating the Admission of International Students by Chinese Higher Education Institutions" (Jiaowai Han [2020] No. 12) issued by the Ministry of Education. 

2. Generally, the age should be between 18 and 30 years old. 

3. Good academic performance in subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, meeting the admission requirements (exempt from written test).

1. Before applying, please be sure to read carefully the "Instructions for Filling Out the Application Form and Uploading Materials". 

2. Passport: Hold a regular passport valid for more than 6 months. Provide all information pages of the regular passport for the last 4 years (up to April 30 of the year of admission). 

3. High school graduation certificate and academic proficiency certificate: 

3.1 High school graduation certificate. Fresh high school graduates should submit the original expected graduation certificate issued by their school. 

3.2 A transcript of all courses taken during high school issued by the high school attended must be provided; it should include the results of the national or regional unified high school graduation examination or university entrance examination. If the results of these examinations cannot be obtained at the time of application, a statement of the situation must be provided. 

3.3 Notarized copies or original documents as required; 

Applicants whose native language is not English must provide scanned copies of their English proficiency test scores (such as IELTS or TOEFL, with IELTS no less than 6.0 and no less than 5.0 in each section, and TOEFL no less than 75 with no less than 15 in each section), or a scanned copy of a Cambridge Advanced English certificate with a score of no less than 170, or a scanned copy of a high school transcript showing that all courses were taught in English. If IB, A-LEVEL or other English standardized test scores are submitted, the English proficiency proof is not required. 

5. Personal statement in English (signed by the applicant). 

6. Financial guarantee certificate: Provide a deposit certificate issued by a bank with an amount of no less than 100,000 RMB or its equivalent in foreign currency; the certificate must be issued within one month prior to the application date. 

7. Physical Examination Form for Foreigners: It must be a valid physical examination report within 6 months, filled out in standard language by a public hospital and stamped (the form can be downloaded from the attachment). 

8. Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (for the main place of residence in the past four years). 

9. Other supporting documents (such as award certificates, admission notices from other universities, etc.). 

The application fee is 800 RMB. Please submit the proof of payment (for details on online payment methods and bank transfer accounts, please visit www.shsmu.edu.cn/iso/info/1022/1106.htm). Once the application fee is paid, it will not be refunded under any circumstances. Applications without the payment of the application fee will be invalid. 

11. Applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality must submit the following at the time of application: 

11.1  Certificate of Naturalization; 

11.2  Cancellation certificate of original Chinese household registration and certificate of renunciation of Chinese nationality; 

11.3 The visa pages of the applicant's passport for entry and exit to and from China in the past four years; 

11.4 Proof of the applicant's actual residence outside China for more than two years within the past four years. 

12. According to Article 5 of the Nationality Law of the People's Republic of China, a person who is born with foreign nationality when both or one of his or her parents are Chinese citizens and have settled abroad does not have Chinese nationality. The following supporting documents are required: 

12.1 Proof that the applicant was born with foreign nationality; 

12.2  Proof of nationality or household registration of both parents of the applicant (passport or ID card); 

12.3 The corresponding permanent residence certificate of either or both of the applicant's parents. If either or both of the parents are Chinese citizens but have not obtained permanent residence abroad, the applicant shall provide the certificate of cancellation of the original Chinese household registration and the certificate of renunciation of Chinese nationality. 

12.4  The visa pages of the applicant's passport for entry and exit to and from China in the past four years; 

12.5 Proof of the applicant's actual residence outside China for more than two years within the past four years. 

Applicants who are under 18 years old by the year of admission are required to submit a guardianship guarantee in China (download address is attached); the guardian should be an adult with a source of income and residing in the Chinese mainland. 

In addition to the above-mentioned application materials, if necessary, our college will request the applicant to submit supplementary materials, including but not limited to birth certificates, household registration transcripts, proof of naturalization, proof of renunciation of Chinese nationality, proof of cancellation of domestic Chinese household registration, and relevant certificates of the applicant's parents, etc.
