Professional Overview: This major focuses on the human-environment system as its research object. It mainly studies the changes in the environment caused by human activities and their impacts on humans and the ecosystem, as well as the engineering, technical, planning and management measures that should be taken to achieve sustainable development.

Training Objectives: The aim is to cultivate well-rounded talents (in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics) who possess a sustainable development mindset, have the basic theories, knowledge and skills in environmental science and engineering disciplines, master specialized knowledge in related fields, and be capable of engaging in education, research and development, engineering design, consulting and management in the fields of environmental protection and related areas.

Curriculum: General education courses include Marxist basic principles, foreign languages, computer science, etc. Subject foundation courses include mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecology, and environmental science. Professional courses vary depending on the direction. The environmental engineering major covers water pollution control engineering, air pollution control engineering, etc.; the environmental science major includes environmental chemical processes and effects, environmental management, etc.; the environmental ecological engineering major includes basic ecology, pollution environment remediation, etc.

Specialization: It is usually divided into the environmental science major (natural direction), the environmental engineering major, and the environmental science major (management direction). The environmental science major (natural direction) mainly studies the natural migration and transformation laws of pollutants and their impacts on the ecosystem; the environmental engineering major focuses on pollution prevention and control technologies and engineering scheme design; the environmental science major (management direction) explores management countermeasures such as planning, policies and laws for environmental protection.

2. Requirements for the applicant's educational background and age: 

Those who are pursuing a bachelor's degree must have a high school diploma and be under the age of 25. 

(2) Those who are pursuing a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35. 

(3) Those pursuing a doctoral degree must hold a master's degree and be under the age of 40. 

(4) Those pursuing non-degree education courses should be under the age of 45. 

3. Not a recipient of any other scholarships. 

4. Language proficiency requirements: IELTS >= 6.0, TOEFL > 80, MELAB >= 10

On the application system of our university, applicants must fill in information in Chinese or English and submit application materials online.

1. Valid Ordinary Passport.

If the applicant is in China, a valid residence permit is also required.

2. The highest degree certificate. Graduating students can provide a pre-graduation letter as a substitute, and have to bring the original certificate when they come to China.

4. "Physical Examination Record for Foreigners"(Attachment 3).

Applicants should strictly follow the items required in the "Physical Examination Records for Foreigners" and fill them out in Chinese or English. The “Physical Examination Record for Foreigners” missing pages or without a photo or a cross-page seal on it, or without a signature of physician or seal from hospital is invalid. Whereas the inspection results are valid in 6 months, applicants are requested to determine the time of their medical examination accordingly.

5. Valid non-criminal record certificate within 6 months. If the applicant is already in China, she/he can only provide performance letter or Non-objection certificate from current university.

6. Proof of Language Proficiency.

7. Study Plan for Bachelor or Research Plan for Master and PhD.

8. Two recommendation letters signed by (associate) professors (Undergraduate students are exempt).

9. Conditional acceptance letter (It’s not a mandatory but a preferred file, with which students will be admitted in priority).

10. Others preferred: academic achievements (important), certificates of sports or cultural activity.

11. Students under 18 years old should upload Letter of Authorization.(Attachment 4)
