About YU

Yangtze University is the largest comprehensive university with a full range of disciplines among higher education institutions in Hubei Province, one of the Key Universities of Hubei Province, one of the Universities selected for National Education Power Project as well as one of the Domestic First-class Construction Universities of Hubei Province. Moreover, the university is jointly built by People's Government of Hubei Province, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

 Program Introduction

This program is a full scholarship program funded by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE), which is used by some Chinese universities to independently recruit outstanding international students to study in China. Entrusted by the Ministry of Education, YU is responsible for the implementation of this program, and oversees recruiting outstanding international students to study in the relevant master's degree programs and PhD degree programs.

 Qualifications

Applicants are in good health and are citizens of a country other than the People’s Republic of China.

Note: Applicants who were originally Chinese citizens but later joined foreign nationalities, or applicants whose parents are both Chinese citizens and have settled in foreign countries, and applicants who were born with foreign nationalities, should hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for at least 4 years, and have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for at least 2 years within the last 4 years (up to March 30th of the year of enrollment).

2. Master applicants must have a bachelor's degree and be no older than 35 years old; PhD applicants must have a master's degree and be no older than 40 years old.

The program supports students who apply master and PhD program. To apply for Chinese language teaching, applicants must have a certificate of HSK 4 or above; to apply for English language teaching, applicants must submit a certificate of English language proficiency and pass the English language interview.

 Application Procedure

1.

Log in and register on the YU International Student Service Platform.

2.

Select Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), fill in the documents according to the system requirements and apply for the relevant majors.

Application Materials

1.

Application Form for International Students of YU (in Chinese or English).

2.

Passport front page. If the validity period of your current passport does not meet the requirements (the validity period of your passport should be later than September 2024), please get a new passport in time.

3.

Notarized certificate of highest education. If the applicant is a student, he/she should submit the certificate of expected graduation or certificate of enrollment issued by the school he/she is studying.

4.

Academic transcripts (from undergraduate level). Scanned transcripts should include grades from undergraduate, master's (if any) and PhD (if any) studies up to the most recent semester. The transcripts should be issued and stamped by the Academic Affairs Office, Graduate School, or the relevant student administration department of the school of study. Transcripts can be provided in Chinese/English. For languages other than English, an English translation must be provided and notarized.

Proof of language proficiency. Applicants applying for Chinese as the language of instruction in the program must provide HSK scores within the validity period and in accordance with the corresponding Chinese language proficiency requirements. Applicants applying for English as the language of instruction should provide evidence of language proficiency, such as IELTS or TOEFL transcripts.

6.

Study plan in China. Applicants should submit a study plan in English or Chinese (more than 1000 words), which should focus on the background of the program, the direction of research, future study/research plans, etc. Applicants can also briefly explain their intention to come to China and their knowledge of China and YU. The study plan can be written in Chinese or English only. The PhD applicant's plan of study in China must be signed by the PhD supervisor of YU.

Recommendation letters. Recommendation letters from two professors or associate professors should be submitted, which should focus on the evaluation of the applicant's learning ability, learning attitude and future development, and can be written in Chinese or English only.

8.A copy of the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form (keep the original, which is printed by the Chinese health quarantine department and must be filled out in English). The applicant should strictly follow the items required in the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form. The Foreigner's Physical Examination Form with missing items, without the photo of the applicant affixed to it or without the riding seal on the photo, or without the signatures and seals of the physician and the hospital is invalid, and the results of the examination shall be valid for 6 months.

9.

Certificate of no criminal record. The applicant must submit a certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security authorities within the validity period, which should normally be within 6 months prior to the date of submitting the application.

10.

Students graduating in China must submit the page of their residence permit in China and a certificate of school performance issued by the school they are currently attending;

11.

Other attached documents (e.g., award certificates, published papers, etc.).

Note: Materials uploaded through the system must be clear, true, and valid. It is recommended that applicants use professional equipment to scan the relevant documents to be submitted. Applicants are responsible for any consequences caused by unclear or unrecognizable materials.

Admission and Notification

By the end of March, the school determines the list of scholarship awarders and submits it to China Scholarship Council (CSC); CSC determines the list of acceptance after reviewing the results of the school's acceptance; and by the end of July, the acceptance notification letter and Application for Visa for Overseas Students in China (Form JW201) will be issued to the accepted applicants.

 Precautions

1.

Incomplete and untrue application materials, non-existence of the applied majors or outside the scope of the program funding will not be considered;

2.

All application materials should be completed in Chinese or English and uploaded in full to the application website; uploading to the CSC website is only allowed after passing the school's review and interview;

3. Certificates of graduation/highest level of education and transcripts must be provided with notarized translations in Chinese or English;

4. Admission documents will be sent to the address stated in the Permanent Address section of the application form. Please keep the information accurate and do not provide a post office address;

5. Applicants must fill in the correct WeChat or Skype account when applying on the website and ensure that the account is online for a long time in order to be notified of the interview.
