Since its launch, IEC has attached great importance to the event, actively organizing and motivating students to participate. To explore local culture in Shenyang, IEC students embarked on an exciting cultural journey this September, beginning with the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum and continuing to Zhongjie.

At the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, international students explored the rich history of the Qing Dynasty, capturing intricate details of the palace’s architecture and its artifacts on display. They were particularly fascinated by stories of the emperors and the cultural significance of the palace. Next, the group visited Zhongjie, one of the oldest and most vibrant commercial streets in Shenyang. They captured the bustling atmosphere, traditional architecture, and local shops on video, highlighting the unique blend of history and modernity. For lunch, the group enjoyed a traditional Chinese meal featuring delicious dumplings, a staple of Chinese cuisine. They documented their culinary experience, capturing the process of making and enjoying dumplings, and sharing their impressions of the flavors and textures.

After filming, the hard work continued. Faculty advisor and participating students collaborated closely on video production and post-production dubbing, refining every detail to achieve excellence. The students hope to showcase their newfound appreciation for Chinese culture and their creative storytelling skills.

IEC will continue to encourage more international students to participate in cultural exchange activities and competitions, using these platforms not only to deepen their understanding of Chinese history and traditions but also to foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among participants. These efforts contribute significantly to the global dissemination of Chinese classical culture.
