2025 NJUST Lanshan Scholarship Program Admission Guide

Eligibility

1. Non-Chinese citizen with a valid ordinary passport

2. Physical and mental health, good behavior and academic excellence

3. Language proficiency requirements:

● English-taught programs: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 85, Duolingo 105 or equivalent

● Chinese-taught programs: HSK 5 for undergraduates, HSK 6 for postgraduates

4. Academic and Age Requirements:

● Undergraduate applicants: Completed high school with excellent grades, and be under 26 years old

● Master's applicants: Bachelor's degree with good academic performance, and be under 35 years old

● Doctoral applicants: Master's degree with outstanding academic achievements, and be under 40 years old

Scholarship Coverage

Undergraduate (4 years):

● Class A+ (10 students): Tuition and housing waiver, 1000 CNY monthly stipend

● Class A (20 students): Tuition waiver only

● Class B (20 students): 50% tuition waiver

● Class C (50 students): Housing waiver onlyMaster's Students (3 years):

● Full scholarship (20 students): Tuition and housing waiver, 1500 CNY monthly stipendDoctoral Students (4 years):

● Class A (5 students): Tuition and housing waiver, 3500 CNY monthly stipend

● Class B (8 students): Tuition and housing waiver, 2500 CNY monthly stipend

● Class C (12 students): Tuition and housing waiver, 1500 CNY monthly stipend

Scholarship recipients are subject to annual review upon admission to maintain their award statuses. Please refer to the International Student Handbook of NJUST for more information.

Application Documents

For Undergraduate Applicants:

1. Passport: A scanned copy of the passport information page (valid for at least 12 months).

2. Academic Certificates: Highest degree certificate notarized. If the applicant is currently enrolled, provide a certificate of expected graduation.

3. Transcripts: Official transcripts for high school studies, stamped by the school. If not in Chinese or English, provide notarized translations.

4. Language Proficiency Proof: Valid HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test results issued within the past two years.

5. Personal statement: Study plan and motivation, 800+ words in Chinese or English.

6. Recommendation Letters: Two letters signed by high school teachers, stating their relationship with the applicant.

7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form: A photocopy (the original should be kept by the applicant). This form is issued by the Chinese quarantine authorities and must be completed in English. Applicants must strictly follow the requirements listed on the form. Forms with missing items, no applicant photo, photos without a cross-page stamp, or without the signature and official seal of the attending physician and hospital will be deemed invalid. The examination results are valid for 6 months.

8. Non-Criminal Record Certificate: Issued by local authorities within six months of the application date.

9. Financial Proof: Documents demonstrating financial support, such as income certificates, bank statements, or sponsor letters.

10. Supporting Documents: Award certificates, proof of skills, if any.

For Postgraduate Applicants:

1. Passport: A scanned copy of the passport information page (valid for at least 12 months).

2. Academic Certificates: Highest degree certificate notarized. If the applicant is currently enrolled, provide a certificate of expected graduation.

3. Transcripts: Official transcripts for undergraduate, master's (if applicable), and doctoral studies (if applicable), stamped by the university. If not in Chinese or English, provide notarized translations.

4. Language Proficiency Proof: Valid HSK, TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo test results issued within the past two years.

6. Study Plan/Research Proposal: At least 1,000 words in Chinese or English.

7. Recommendation Letters: Two letters signed by professors or associate professors detailing the applicant’s academic performance, research ability, and potential.

For Undergraduate Applicants:

● Academic record 30% (high school grades, standardized test scores)

● Language proficiency 20% (IELTS, TOEFL, Duolingo, HSK scores)

● Comprehensive quality 50% (interview performance, awards, talents, etc.)

For Postgraduate Applicants:

● Academic background 30-40% (university reputation, grades, major relevance)

● Research capability 30-40% (publications, projects, research proposal)

● Development potential 20-30% (recommendation letters, interview performance, language proficiency)
