Vehicle Engineering has been recognized as a national first-class undergraduate program since its inception in 1959. With a rich history spanning over 70 years, this major has not only established itself as a cornerstone of automotive education but has also earned the title of a national characteristic major. The focus on new energy vehicles within this discipline underscores its relevance to modern automotive advancements making it a leading field of study in Jiangsu Province. It was ranked fourth out of 192 similar majors nationwide in 2020. This achievement highlights the program's dedication to fostering skilled professionals who are poised to contribute significantly to the automotive industry.

First-class major

Vehicle Engineering was selected as one of the national first-class undergraduate majors in 2019. The major has a first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization point and a post-doctoral mobile station and is also recognized as one of the dominant disciplines in Jiangsu Province.

These include the National Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center, the National Virtual Simulation Experiment Project, and the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center. International Laboratory

International Joint Research Laboratory

The Department of Vehicle Engineering has established International Joint Laboratory of New Energy Vehicles and Intelligent Transportation, Sino-Canada Vehicle and Intelligent System Technology Laboratory. It has a remarkable ability to undertake significant international joint research initiatives as well as major national projects with an important impact in countries along the "Belt and Road".

Structure of Automobile is a professional basic course for vehicle engineering.
