PhD candidates can apply for the following majors: Electronic Information, Electronic Science and Technology, Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering, Cyberspace Security, Control Science and Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Management Science, Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering
Eligibility Criteria
1. Be a non-Chinese citizen with good physical and mental health.
2. For Master’s programs: Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, maintain an excellent academic record, and be under 35 years of age.
3. For PhD programs: Hold a master’s degree or equivalent, have an outstanding academic background, and be under 40 years of age.
4. Language-Specific Requirements
• English-Taught Programs: Achieve IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL 80 or above, or Duolingo 120 or above.
• Chinese-Taught Programs: Reach at least HSK Level 5.
Required Application Materials
All materials must be in Chinese or English; non-English foreign language documents require notarized English translations. Prepare the following:
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (filled out in Chinese or English).
2. Copy of passport homepage (valid for more than 1 year, with expiration date later than September 2026).
3. Notarized highest academic diploma (current students must submit an official proof of enrollment or expected graduation certificate from their current university).
4. Academic transcripts (from undergraduate studies onwards, including all semesters of bachelor’s, master’s (if applicable), and PhD (if applicable) programs, issued and sealed by the relevant academic authority of the attending university).
5. Language proficiency certificate: For English-taught programs, submit an IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo score report; for Chinese-taught programs, provide a valid HSK score report.
6. List of academic publications, research achievements, and representative works/abstracts (if applicable).
7. Study plan (over 3,000 words/characters in Chinese or English; PhD applicants’ study plans must be signed by a potential Chinese supervisor from the institution).
8. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (printed on university letterhead, including recommender’s position, title, contact information, signature, and date of recommendation within the past year).
9. Photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (completed in English within 6 months prior to application, with all required items checked, signed by the physician, and sealed by the hospital).
10. Non-criminal record report (issued by the local public security authority within 6 months prior to application).
11. Provisional acceptance letter from a potential supervisor (mandatory for PhD applicants).
