As the sunken square is illuminated by the colors of 23 countries, and as the laughter of different languages blends into a song, this "international cultural feast" held by SUIBE has ignited the enthusiasm of the autumn campus!
As the sunken square is illuminated by the colors of 23 countries, and as the laughter of different languages blends into a song, this event belonging to SUIB Vietnam showcases the straw hats of Vietnam, the Khmer traditional costumes of Cambodia, the handicrafts of Thailand, the pilaf of Tajikistan... The international students, dressed up as "cultural guides", use fluent Chinese along with graphic display boards to vividly and interestingly tell the historical stories and local customs of their own countries.
The artistic performances were especially thrilling for everyone. The Vietnamese students combined traditional dances with modern pop dances, presenting a mixed dance show. As their skirts fluttered, it was full of Eastern charm. The Korean students performed the bilingual song "Love You" in both Chinese and Korean, with the cheerful rhythm making the audience sway along. The students from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Brazzaville) showcased their karate performance, with precise punches and kicks. Applause erupted from the audience one after another. What's worth mentioning is that the entire performance team was composed of both Chinese and foreign students, who delivered the program in both Chinese and English. The humorous interactions kept the audience laughing continuously.
As an important carrier for promoting internationalization of education at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, the International Cultural Festival for International Students is not only a gift to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the university's founding, but also an important platform for promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and enhancing mutual understanding.
