Mechanical engineering is an engineering discipline that takes basic sciences such as mechanics, materials science, and thermodynamics as its theoretical basis, and combines computer technology, control technology, etc., to study the design, manufacture, operation, and optimization of mechanical systems. Its core objective is to solve practical problems in the mechanical field through engineering practice, covering the entire chain of research from micro components to macro complex mechanical systems.

1. Health condition

Good physical and mental health (free from infectious diseases and physical or mental disorders that may affect normal study).

2 Age requirement

As of September 1, 2025, applicants must not exceed 25 years old.

3 Educational requirements

By September 1, 2025, applicants must have obtained a high school graduation certificate.

4 Learning ability

Applicants should possess good learning ability and academic performance. The score requirement for applicants of the undergraduate program in the previous application stage is 75%. Schools refer to the results of internationally recognized standardized tests such as SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, and GED, or regional high school unified examinations. Applicants may provide proof of other learning abilities or academic performance.

5 Language requirements

Applicants should have a language proficiency in Chinese or English that meets the admission standards. In some countries, the proof of English proficiency may be waived (information on English-speaking countries).

1. A scanned copy of the valid and clear information page of the passport

The passport is valid until October 30, 2025 and beyond. Applicants currently residing in the Chinese mainland must also provide a scanned copy of the current valid visa page or residence permit page.

2 Scanned copy of high school graduation certificate

If the applicant is a current student, they must submit a certificate of enrollment issued by their school, which includes the expected graduation date, and submit the graduation certificate before registration.

3 Scanned copies of the transcripts for each semester/academic year during high school

If the applicant has not completed the previous stage of study, they must provide transcripts for all semesters up to the time of application.

Applicants who meet the following conditions are not required to provide proof of language proficiency

Applicants whose native language is Chinese are applying for programs taught in Chinese.

Applicants whose native language is English are applying for English-taught programs.

6 Scanned copy of the certificate of no criminal record (valid within 6 months)

Currently residing within the territory of Chinese mainland, one must simultaneously submit a criminal record clearance certificate from both the home country and the period of stay in China.

If you are temporarily unable to provide a certificate of no criminal record due to various special circumstances, please fill out the "Personal Commitment Letter". After being tentatively admitted, you must submit the certificate of no criminal record as soon as possible. Only after submitting it can you obtain the admission qualification.

7 Scanned copies of officially certified awards and research achievements (not mandatory)

8 Scanned copy of the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" (valid within 6 months)

Those currently residing in the Chinese mainland and holding a valid "Foreigner's Residence Permit" or "Foreigner's Permanent Residence Identity Card" may use either of the above materials to replace the "Foreigner's Physical Examination Form".

9 As of November 1, 2025, applicants under the age of 18 must provide a minor guarantee letter (template).

10. Bank statements of the account of myself or my parents for the past six months (with a balance of no less than 5,000 US dollars).

11. Other supplementary materials required to be submitted by Northwestern Polytechnical University.
