Application Deadline Apr 15,2026
RMB 30000 per year
The development of applied chemistry stems from humanity's exploration of "how chemical laws serve practical needs". Its research scope ranges from the macroscopic industrial production processes to the microscopic molecular design, covering the entire chain from "basic research → technology development → product application".
Difference from "pure chemistry": Pure chemistry (such as inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry) focuses on exploring the composition, structure and reaction laws of substances ("why"); applied chemistry, on the other hand, concentrates on how to utilize these laws to solve practical problems ("how to do it"), for example:
Pure chemistry studies "the catalytic mechanism of a certain catalyst", while applied chemistry studies "how to improve this catalyst to make it more efficient and stable in industrial reactions".
Pure chemistry analyzes "the composition of a certain substance", while applied chemistry develops "rapid test strips or instruments for detecting pesticide residues in food".
Core characteristics: Problem-oriented, emphasizing the transformation ability from "theory → experiment → pilot production → industrialization", and combining the scientific nature of chemistry with the practicality of engineering.
