Organic chemistry is an important branch of the chemical discipline, focusing on carbon-hydrogen compounds and their derivatives. It explores their structures, properties, synthesis methods, reaction mechanisms, and applications. Due to the unique bonding ability of carbon (which can form single bonds, double bonds, triple bonds, as well as long chains and cyclic structures), organic compounds are extremely diverse (exceeding over a million types), covering biological molecules in nature (such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates) and synthetic materials (such as drugs, plastics, dyes, etc.). Therefore, organic chemistry is hailed as "the chemistry of life" and serves as a crucial bridge connecting chemistry, biology, and materials science.
