The core of fluid mechanics is to reveal the fundamental laws governing fluid motion and to utilize these laws to solve practical problems. It mainly addresses three key questions: 

How do the physical quantities such as pressure, velocity and density distribute within a fluid when it is at rest or in motion?

How are the forces (such as lift, drag and pressure) between a fluid and a solid boundary (such as an aircraft wing, pipeline wall, or dam) calculated?

How can the efficiency or safety of engineering equipment be improved by optimizing the fluid motion state (such as designing streamlined structures)? 

Whether it is the aerodynamics relied upon by aircraft takeoff, the water flow regulation in water conservancy projects, or the analysis of blood flow in the cardiovascular system, all are based on the theory of fluid mechanics.

1. Physical and mental health (free from infectious diseases and without any physical or mental disorders that affect normal learning). 

2. By September 1, 2025, the age of applicants for the doctoral program shall not exceed 35 years old. 

3. Educational Requirements: As of September 1, 2025, applicants for the doctoral program must have obtained a master's degree. 

4. Learning ability: Applicants should possess good learning ability and academic performance. The required score for the previous stage of application for applicants is 75%, and for those applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship, it is 80%. Applicants can provide other proof of their learning ability or academic performance, such as GRE or GMAT scores. 

5. Language Requirements 

The applicant should possess the required language proficiency in both Chinese and English as per the admission criteria.

Applicants who meet the following conditions do not need to provide language proficiency certificates:

· Applicants whose native language is Chinese can apply for Chinese-taught programs;

· Applicants whose native language is English can apply for English-taught programs.

8. Letter of Acceptance from Supervisor:

A letter of acceptance from the doctoral supervisor is a necessary document. Applications without such a letter will not be considered;

9. Officially Certified Awards and Research Achievements

Research achievements are a necessary document, including published research papers, patents, and research-related awards;

Applicants for the doctoral program with a CSC scholarship must submit at least one journal paper or conference paper.
