Qingtai Normal University
The school was originally founded as Qiongtai Academy in 1705. It was named "Qiongtai" as a tribute to the place (Qiongzhou is also known as Qiongtai), the person (Chu Jun, a scholar of the Ming Dynasty, had the pseudonym Qiongtai), and the aspiration (to carry forward the wisdom of predecessors and inspire future generations). The school has gone through stages of academy, school, junior college, university, and undergraduate institution over the past 300 years, maintaining continuous teaching and diligent education. It has always emphasized the importance of culture and education, nurturing talents, and enjoys the reputation of being the cradle of scholars, the cradle of revolution, and the cradle of teachers.
