Over the past 20 years of its operation, the school has adhered to the school motto of "Steadfastness, Integrity, Diligence, and Continuous Progress", closely following and serving the regional industrial development direction of Fujian Province, cultivating applied talents needed by society, and gradually developing into an applied university with a focus on engineering, coordinated development of engineering, management, and liberal arts disciplines. The school has 8 secondary colleges and offers 40 undergraduate programs, covering eight major disciplines including engineering, science, management, literature, law, and art. Among them, there are 3 national first-class undergraduate program construction points (Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, and E-commerce), and 5 provincial first-class undergraduate program construction points (Finance, Law, Fine Arts, Civil Engineering, and Business Administration); there are 2 national first-class undergraduate courses and 41 provincial first-class undergraduate courses; there are 5 courses with exemplary projects for integrating ideological and political education into the curriculum.
