Nanjing Forestry University
Nanjing Forestry University was formerly known as the Forestry Department of the former National Central University founded in 1927 and the Forestry Department of Jinling University founded in 1915. The historical origins can be traced back to the Sanjiang Normal School established in 1902 and the Huishuwen College founded in 1888. In 1952, during the national university and department reorganization, the Forestry Department of Nanjing University (which originated from the Sanjiang Normal School) and the Forestry Department of Jinling University (which originated from the Huishuwen College) merged to form Nanjing Forestry College, one of the first batch of higher forestry institutions independently established in New China.
