On October 25, US News released the 2023 World University Ranking. Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) ranked 109th in the world and 6th in the Chinese mainland.

In August 2022, Shanghai Ranking Consultancy officially released the "2022 Academic Ranking of World Universities", and HUST ranked among the top 100 universities in the world, 96th in the world, 8th in the Chinese mainland and 1st in Hubei Province. In the 2022-23 CWUR World University Ranking, HUST ranked the 9th in the Chinese mainland. In the 2021 "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list released by Elsevier, the number of highly cited HUST researchers was 101, ranking 6th among all Chinese universities.

Till to September 2022, HUST owns more than 3700 full-time teachers, including more than 1400 professors and 1400 associate professors. There are 19 academicians, 15 chief scientists of the "973 Program", 2 chief scientists of major scientific research programs, 163 chief scientists of national key research and development programs (including 48 international cooperative scientists), 13 national famous teachers, 11 NSFC innovation research groups and 19 innovation teams from the Ministry of Education.

Facing the future, HUST will further implement the innovation-driven development strategy, strive to build a world-class university with Chinese characteristics, make new contributions to achieve self-reliance and high-level technology, and work tirelessly to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
