VISA AND RESIDENCE PERMIT

 

I．Apply for Residence Permit for the First Time

I-1. BJUT international students holding X or L visa are supposed to come to international office to apply for Residence Permit within 10 days upon entering China. Fail to do so may cause fines.

 

To apply, you will be asked to submit the following documents to international office:

 

a. Admission notice and Visa Application for Study in China (JW201 or JW202 form)

b. A valid personal passport and visa

c. A recent 2-inch photo with pale blue or white background

d. A Registration Form of Temporary Residence (original and photocopy)

Upon receiving the documents, international student officer will instruct the applicant to do physical examination at Beijing International Travel Healthcare. The result will be issued one week later, which should be collected by applicant and submitted to international office. Upon receiving the result, international student officer will print out a Visa or Residence Permit Application Form for the student.

 

How to apply (choose one)?

1. The International Student Office will first submit an e-application to the Administration of Entry & Exit of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau. When the application is accepted, the office will print out the application form which students will be informed to collect at the office. Please go to the Administration of Entry & Exit of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau by yourself.

2. Alternatively, you can ask Beijing Shang Lian International Business Service Co. Ltd., which is designated by the Administration of Entry & Exit of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, to apply visa or residence permit for you. The service cost is RMB60 yuan.

 

I-2. F visa holders do not need to apply for Residence Permit. But you should pay attention to your visa expiring date and time of entry. Extend your visa or add entry times when necessary.

 

II. Extend Residence Permit

II-1. Residence permit holders, who will continue to study in China, will need to have their residence permit extended before it is expired. To apply for the extension, you will need to make a reservation at least 10 working days ahead of the expiry date.

 

To apply, you will be asked to submit the following documents to international office:

 

a. A valid personal passport and visa

b. A Registration Form of Temporary Residence (original and copy)

c. A recent 2-inch photo with pale blue or white background

 

Upon receiving the documents, international officer will print out a Visa or Residence Permit Application Form for you.

III. Extend F visa or Add Entries
