Teachers and Students from Coventry University Visited Central South University

On April 1, the 2014 International Teaching Exchange of Green Design between Central South University (CSU) and British Coventry University was officially launched. Twenty-four teachers and students from Coventry University will pay a two-week visit to Central South University (CSU) for teaching exchanges. During the visit, they will participate in classroom teaching on Visual Communication and Design mainly delivered by Professor Sun Xiangming, leader of the project.

The teaching exchange of this visit mainly involves discussion with undergraduates and postgraduates on Green Design and combination of Green Design with classroom teaching in Character Design and Information Design of the Visual Communication and Design major. Besides, both sides will jointly host a series of academic lectures on Western Poster Design and Chinese Traditional Art, etc.

The biggest feature of this exchange is that both sides have participated in teaching classroom of the other side, contributing to the seamless joint of design teaching at home and abroad. Plus, teachers and students from both sides have gained deep insight into the counterpart’s culture and teaching features, which has also promoted bilateral progress and development.

As another key link of the teaching exchange, 18 undergraduates and postgraduates from School of Architecture and Fine Arts of CSU will be sent to Coventry University for teaching exchanges under the guide of Professor Sun Xiangming and Assistant Professor Xu Ming. This project has won high appreciation and vigorous support from President Zhang Yaoxue and relevant functional departments of CSU including International Exchange and Cooperation Department and Department of Postgraduates' Training.
