With the philosophy of “education discriminating no borders”, XAIU leads private institutions of higher education in China in globalized education. XAIU was the first private university in Shaanxi province approved to carry out joint educational programs and recruit international students, and hundreds of students from over 15 countries have taken Chinese language, culture, history and economics classes on campus. The University has also established cooperation and exchanges with over 100 universities in countries such as the USA, Canada, France, Australia, Russia, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia etc. Ongoing joint programs include 3+1 with Université de Poitiers in France (in collaboration with ZTE), 2+2 with Mount Saint Vincent University in Canada, 2+2 with Dhurakij Pundit University in Thailand, 1+3 with Myongji University in Korea, and 1+1+2 with Green River Community College in the USA.

The University’s president, Dr. Alimin Chen, a tenured and distinguished professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at Indiana State University, has been the first and only one in the nation globally recruited through an open search. Many international renowned scholars, as well as political and business elites, have visited and collaborated with XAIU. In 2011, XAIU jointly initiated the Association of Global Development of Universities and Colleges (AGUAC) and in 2016, held on its campus again the Association’s 7th international conference.
