Established in 1978, Hunan University of Humanities,Scienceand Technology (HUHST) is approved by the Ministry of Educationof P. R. Chinaas a comprehensive public university.  In 2018, it was granted “Double First-Class” high level application-oriented university of Hunan Province.

The university consists of 14 schools, offering programs both on bachelor degree and master degree. There are 55 undergraduate programs, ranging from Arts, Humanities to Science, Engineering, Education, Economics, Management and Agriculture. Currently 17,209 full-time students study on campus, with 1366 faculty and staff members.

Five disciplines are selected as provincial “Double First-Class” applicated-orineted disciplines: Applied Economics, Maxism, Plant Protection, Computer Science and Technology, and Material Science and Engineering.  There are 31 national-level andprovincial-level practice platforms, such as college students’ dragon and lion dancingtraining base, provincial demonstration laboratory, demonstrationcenter ofteaching practice, college students’ innovation center,school-enterprisecooperation talent cultivating demonstration base, innovationandentrepreneurship education base, incubation demonstration base and crowd innovation space. Two high-level sports teams, football and orienteeringteam, are granted by the Ministry of Education of the P. R. China.
