Time flies. Since its founding in 1993, Shenzhen Polytechnic has remained committed to the excellence of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, steadfastly forging ahead. In the beginning, it only had 59 students, but now there are more than 30,000 students. It has six well-equipped campuses with beautiful environments, and it has developed into an applied technology institution renowned at home and abroad. It has also successfully explored ways to develop higher vocational education with Chinese characteristics.

We have ambitious aspirations and embrace change. Standing at this new starting point, we will maintain our aspiration to pursue ethical and academic development in parallel, along with self-improvement, as a way to respond to the major national, provincial and municipal development strategies and to adapt ourselves to a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. With our commitment to serving the Communist Party, the country, the socio-economic development of Shenzhen and the sound development and success of students, we will adhere to integrated development in many areas such as industry, education, academic courses, vocational courses, theory, practice, technology, culture, education, life, modern information technologies and teaching. This will build Shenzhen Polytechnic into a pioneer of vocational education innovation and development, a training ground of versatile, innovative and high-quality technicians and entrepreneurs, a technology R&D center for miniature, small and medium-sized enterprises in Shenzhen, a school of lifelong learning for Shenzhen residents and an important base for vocational education teacher training in China. It will take the lead in building a world-class vocational institution with Chinese characteristics, thereby providing the “Shenzhen experience” for the development of vocational education worldwide.
